“Texture of the Times—Exhibition of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Works” Was Grandly Kicked off in National Art Museum of China

On June 8, 2017, co-hosted by China Artists Association, National Art Museum of Chin and Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, “Texture of the Era—Exhibition of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Works” raised the curtain in National Art Museum of China. This exhibition consists of eight academic sections, i.e., Strong Voice of the Times, Concern about the Reality, Image Generation, Tradition Reengineering, Language Reflection, Picture Narration, Experimental Dimension and Historical Retrospect. About 300 works, created by more than 200 artists, systematically demonstrate pioneering spirit and fruitful achievements of the old-generation art educators and new-generation artists in Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, especially creation genealogy in the new historical period and the artistic history context since China’s reform and opening up.
In his speech, Mr. Wu Weishan, Director of National Art Museum of China, comments that artists of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute constantly absorb and enrich themselves on the basis of traditional inheritance. Although they give vent to unique voices, they also plunge into the mainstream of the current era, cherish original ambition, and stride forward on the broad path for taking root in daily life, embracing the common people, setting foothold on works and making efforts to education. This exhibition brings together artworks crystallizing ideology, art, emotion, will, spirit and skill of teachers and students of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, gives intuitive, explicit and evocative visual presentation, shows proprietary aesthetic history and innovation history, and makes retrospect to the history of teaching and learning. Mr. Wu Weishan future points out that National Art Museum of China takes out 14 precious collectibles from its treasury to root for this exhibition. These works, created by teachers and students of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and collected by National Art Museum of China, not only blend into the development torrent of the Chinese national art and symbolize aesthetics and creation of the times, but also will gradually develop into the aesthetic momentum and profoundly influence the future.
