Rongbaozhai Traditional Chinese Painting Biennial Exhibition·2016 opens in NAMOC

On June 8, 2016, the Rongbaozhai Traditional Chinese Painting Biennial Exhibition·2016 was solemnly opened in the first floor great hall of the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC). The activity was jointly sponsored by Chinese Artists Association and Rongbaozhai.
Rongbaozhai is a national culture brand with longest history in the country. It is popularly known as the “Palace Museum among the people”. It has significant influence in Chinese fine art circle and art market. To further inherit and carry forward the traditional cultural spirit of Chinese paintings, fully demonstrate latest achievements in contemporary Chinese painting creations, push out excellent contemporary Chinese paintings and young and middle-aged painters, and flourish the fine arts undertaking, Chinese Artists Association and Rongbaozhai jointly sponsored the Rongbaozhai Traditional Chinese Painting Biennial Exhibition 2016. In the beginning of 2016, the organizing committee solicited artistic works from artists association at all levels, professional associations, studios and painters across the country. It advocated the main theme, with universality, authority and guidance, through soliciting contributions, making evaluations, and exhibiting, discussing and publishing the works. The judging panel of exhibited works was constituted by experts from the review panelist database of Chinese Artists Association.
In this exhibition, 187 pieces of artistic works of diverse themes and manifestation patterns were put on display. They included figure paintings, landscape paintings, flower-and-bird paintings, traditional Chinese realistic paintings, and freehand traditional Chinese paintings. They were largely masterpieces created by the artists in recent years, showing brilliant sense of the times in aesthetic taste and creation passions. They were showcase of latest progress in contemporary Chinese paintings. The exhibition played a vital role in promoting excellent contemporary Chinese paintings and young and middle-aged artists, and flourishing the fine arts undertaking.
