On November 1, 2015, "Brush and ink-writing, painting or calligraphy about culture and history-The 2nd Exhibition of Chinese Poem Calligraphy and Painting" was solemnly inaugurated in the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC). The exhibition was jointly sponsored by the Central Research Museum of Culture and History and NAMOC.

NAMOC curator Wu Weishan said this was a unique exhibition, as it was a combination of literature, history, philosophy, the art of painting and calligraphy, and the art of recitation. It integrated the world of art, full of sound and color, tone and rhyme, sentiment and feelings, into an obscure, poetic dreamland. It was guided by the speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping in the forum on literature and art, showing the great care of the Party and state for literary and art workers. It was also an artistic expression of artists taking root in life and the people, keeping a foothold in tradition, and constantly striving for excellence and perfection. Wu said that NAMOC was the only national art museum in China. It matched the Central Research Museum of Culture and History in status for cooperation. The two shared common historical missions, and would go forward hand in hand to realize the Chinese Dream of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The exhibition was the second session to showcase Chinese poetic creations and painting and calligraphy achievements. It comprised four parts. The first part, “the Charm of Museum Artists” of Central Research Museum of Culture and History, was further separated into the two boards of “Great Masters’ Manuscripts” and “Museum Artists’ New Art Works”. They displayed dozens of draft manuscripts, verse manuscripts, letters and hand scrolls treasured up by members of Central Research Museum of Culture and History, as well as their new works of poetry, painting and calligraphy. The second part, “Great Masters’ Top Works”, exhibited painting and calligraphic works of eight members of the museum, who were Liu Jiying, Hou Dechang, Jin Hongjun, Yang Lizhou and Nima Zeren. The third part, “Good Works of Various Regions”, showed representative works of over 100 famous poets, painters and calligraphers from local research institutes of culture and history across the country. The fourth part, “Poetics”, played video programs which were produced by members of the Central Research Museum of Culture and History, including celebrities Ye Jiaying, Cheng Yizhong, Shen Peng and Wang Meng, and recitation artists Chen Duo and Hong Yun’s chanting poetic works.

The exhibition lasted till November 9.
