The Second China Oil painting Biennale is on display

The Second China Oil Painting Biennale is currently on display to reflect the tortuous history of the Chinese oil painting and the orientation of the art. The exhibition is also intended to reveal the thought of the history and status quo of the Chinese oil painting through tracking artistic creation and artistic destiny of different artists.

The exhibition theme “Presence” is expected to highlight the native feature of the Chinese oil painting and its relation with the Chinese social and cultural features. A number of artists have been invited to reveal vigor and vitality of the creation of the Chinese oil painting. The show is intended to retrospect the scene of various dialogues during the development process of the Chinese oil painting since the 20th century.

The artists participating in the exhibition include a number of outstanding painters creating the masterpieces including Dong Xiwen, Luo Gongliu, Zhan Jianjun and Zhong Han and also some artists shadowed for a longtime including Huang Juesi, Wu Dayu and Wang Liuqiu. In addition, the exhibits comprise new artworks created by a few young and middle-aged oil painters, such as Mao Xunhui, Wei Erjia, Liu Xiaodong and ZhaoBo.

The exhibition opens until Aug. 26 at Hall 1, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17.
