The couple went to the Inner Mongolia for borderland construction upon the call of the country in 1957, and settled in New York later. Unfortunately, Jin Gao died in the USA in 2006. The exhibition includes some posthumous artworks by Jin Gao and the artworks by Wang Jida during his 61-year artistic exploration. The exhibition is expected to elaborate artistic devotion of senior artists of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and shed some light on the young artists.
Wang Jida is currently member of the Chinese Artists’ Association and the China Sculpture Institute. Graduated from the Department of Sculpture of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1964, the artist continued his postgraduate’s study here before an investigation tour in 1983, and then settled in New York. The artist took part in the large-scale sculpture project of Chairman Mao Memorial Hall in 1979 and started to create sculptures focusing on the Inner Mongolia.

After Jin Gao passed away at the age of 73, Wang Jida decided to hold an exhibition in China in fulfilling the wishes of his wife.
