The Exhibition of Venezuelan Contemporary Paintings Open

To enhance cultural and art communications between China and Venezuelan,The Exhibition of Venezuelan Contemporary Paintings sponsored by Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Embassy in China, co-organized by China Arts & Entertainment Group (CAEG) and National Art Museum of China(NAMOC) was grandly opened at NAMOC on November 20, 2012. 20 pieces of works from 10 Venezuelan contemporary artists have been displayed.

With splendid historical tradition, the art of Venezuelan occupies a special position in world history of art. The excellent artistic works of Venezuelan artists preserve the core spirit of Venezuelan art. Today’s Venezuelan art also reveals its potential in many fields and the artists are expressing arts by means of diversified languages and media, and inheriting and publicizing cultural heritage of Venezuelan. This exhibition will have viewers see the artistic association and diversity of three generations of the senior, middle-aged and young artists in Venezuelan, providing them a comprehensive perception to Venezuelan contemporary art of painting. These either abstract or concrete or even geometric Venezuelan contemporary paintings, full of modern sense, will surely bring about fine artistic enjoyment to Chinese visitors.

The cultural exchange between China and Venezuelan starts early and has a good tradition on holding cultural exhibitions in the other country. In recent years, CAEG –sponsored cultural and art exchange exhibitions of the two countries have been over a dozen. As early as 1983, Venezuelan held “Venezuelan Scenery Photography Show” and “Venezuelan Art Show” in China and then China also conducted “Chinese Kite Show” and “China Contemporary Pottery Exhibition” in Venezuelan. The Exhibition of Venezuelan Contemporary Paintings this time will offer an excellent opportunity for Chinese audience to appreciate Venezuelan’s contemporary painting arts.
