Narrating of Heilongjiang With Pictures ---A Special Exhibition of 50 Years' of Wood Engraving Collections in Heilongjiang Art Museum opened at National Art Museum of China(NAMOC) on December 14, 2012. 

The 195 pieces of works on the exhibition are selected from over 3000 wood engraving collections in Heilongjiang Art Museum and cover wood engraving of three period of time and reflect development course of Heilongjiang woodcut in the past 50 years, making a panoramic view to history of Heilongjiang engraving and showing achievements of collections in Heilongjiang Art Museum. In the exhibition, Development course of Heilongjiang Engraving extracted from “Heilongjiang Engraving Dictionary” was made into document wall to show introduction to Heilongjiang engraving schools, art chronology and so on, presenting the study findings to engraving collections in Heilongjiang Art Museum in all-rounded way.

Heilongjiang engraving has 16 genres and wide mass base. The creative group of woodcut can be categorized into schools of Greater Khingan, Jixi, Daqing, Great Northern Wilderness and Mudanjiang. The optimistic and generous personality of local people, torrential rivers, expansive land and majestic mountains contribute to Heilongjiang engraving’s artistic features-grandness and magnificence. Narrating of Heilongjiang with pictures is also narrating character of Heilongjiang people with pictures.

The exhibition is displayed in Exhibition Hall No.1, No.8 and No.9 and will last to December 23, 2012.
