Sponsored by All-China Youth Federation, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Artists’ Association, the Fourth Youth Artistic Exhibition is currently on display at the National Art Museum of China. The exhibits include a total of 536 artworks including 128 excellent works out of about 9,127 candidates across the country. The artworks cover a wide range of categories, such as the traditional Chinese painting, the oil painting, the watercolor painting, the lacquer painting, the sculpture and the comprehensive materials and so on.

The exhibition fully reflects the great courage, the active thinking and diversified modes of the young artists in artistic creation as well as new developments and remarkable achievements of the contemporary art of the youth.

The first two youth artistic exhibitions, held in 1957 and 1980s respectively, witnessed the emergence of a large number of extraordinary young artists including Zhang Qinruo and Luo Zhongli, who became the backbone of the Chinese artistic creation team. The Chinese Artists’ Association restarted the program in 2008 and decided to hold the exhibition once three years in a bid to create a favorable mechanism for the young artist.

The exhibition opens at halls 1 to 9 since Dec. 2 until Dec. 18.
