Zhou Guozhen holds a ceramics exhibition

A retrospective exhibition is currently on display at the National Art Museum of China to showcase masterpieces by Zhou Guozhen, modern ceramic artist. 

Born in Hunan province in 1931, Zhou Guozhen was fond of the traditional Chinese culture including the shadow play since childhood. After graduated from the Sculpture Department of China Central Academy of Fine Arts, the artist has been engaged into creation and research in the field of the ceramics. Zhou Guozhen has worked as a teacher in Jingdezhen Ceramics College since 1976 and helped cultivate a great number of current ceramics artists. The exhibits include nearly one hundred ceramics artworks created by the artist since the 1950s.

Zhou Guozhen has been devoted into contemporary ceramics creation and research for the past six decades. This year also marks his 80th birthday anniversary. The artist has made remarkable achievements in the field of the ceramics.

The exhibition opens at Hall 19,20 and 21 since Nov. 11 until Nov. 22.
