An exhibition is on display to commemorate of Xiao Shufang

Sponsored by the Chinese Artists’Association, the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the National Art Museum of China, an artistic exhibition is currently on display in memory of Xiao Shufang’s centennial birthday anniversary. The show is hoped to share her artistic experience and the reflection toward the current art.
Xiao Shufang(1911-2005) was born in Guangdong province, where the Revolution of 1911 occurred. She witnessed the three stages of the revolutions until the reform and opening up, including Old Democratic Revolution, New Democratic Revolution and Socialist Revolution. She spent all her lifetime teaching in the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. Her educational background and personal experience developed her unique artistic style.
With three clues of external situation, artistic accomplishments and personal exploration, the exhibits include a total of 70 diaries and a 740-page painting collection. The show is also expected to showcase how the life of the artist is reflected through her artworks.
The exhibition opens at Hall 7 since Sept. 21 until Sept. 27.
