Chinese Painting Invitation Exhibition links past with future

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the reform and opening up policy and the 15th anniversary of its establishment, the Chinese Painting Artistic Committee of the Chinese Artists Association has held “2008 ? National Academic Invitation Exhibition of the Chinese Painting ” at Hall 4,6,7,8 and 9 until Dec. 14.   

The past 30 years have witnessed the remarkable development of the Chinese art especially the cause of the Chinese painting. The exhibition invites nearly 200 celebrated artists of different ages from home and abroad to present 400 pieces of paintings, including Bai Xueshi, Wei Chuanyi, Yang Zhiguang, Liu Zhiguang, Feng Yuan, Long Rui, Li Baolin, Fang Zhenghe and Liu Jibiao. The show, an epitome of the artistic achievements in the past three decades, is of great academic significance.   

The invitation exhibition is aimed at discuss the future development and the innovation road of the Chinese paintings through such in-depth overview. The paintings on display reveal the great changes in the fields of the Chinese paintings and plays as a link with the future development.  

On behalf all the artists participating in the exhibition, the committee donated 10,000 bed quilts to the quake-hit Sichuan Province for living through this severe winter.
