Oil Painting Exhibition of Wang Chengyi is on display

Co-sponsored by China Academy of Fine Arts and National Art Museum of China, oil painting exhibition of Wang Chengyi is currently on display at Hall 5 until Nov. 25. As professor at China Academy of Fine Arts and member of China Oil Painting Society, the artist exhibits more than 70 pieces of oil paintings.

Born in East China’s Anhui province in 1930, Wang Chengyi has worked at China Academy of Fine Arts for more than 30 years after graduated here. He establishes the simple and vivid style through combining the Chinese elements with the concepts of Realism and Modernism. The artist also participated in a great variety of high-level exhibitions and also held two personal exhibitions in Paris in 1986 and 2002. Boasting several masterpieces including Letter, International song, Warm wind and Tide, he published Basic Techniques of Oil Paintings.
