Irish artist John Kingerlee holds art Exhibition

Sponsored by China International Exhibition Center, Irish artist John Kingerlee has held his first exhibition at Hall 2 until Nov. 25, 2008. The exhibition displays a total of forty paintings featured by abundant texture, strong concept and unique Irish temperament. Focused on acrylics and oil paintings, the paintings adopt a variety of materials including canvas, board and paper board with the theme of grids.    

According to Zheng Zuoliang, the curator of the exhibition, Mr. John Kingerlee is a contemporary artist and makes good use of different tones, colors, areas in order to present colorful and changeable feeling. He creates the similar effect to the relief sculpture through using drying acrylics and. From the Chinese perspective, his works would be characterized by the beauty as the marks on bronze wares during the Shang and Zhou dynasties rather than the simplicity in the historical relics.
