Hunan Provincial Government has held the first exhibition entitled “2008 Art Hunan ―― Fine Art Exhibition in Hunan Province” at Hall 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9 from Nov. 19 to Nov.25. With 290 pieces of works by more than 200 artists of different ages, the show intends to showcase remarkable achievements and active spirits since the implementation of the reform and opening up policy 30 years ago.

The exhibition is composed of five sections, namely, “contemporary images” including different kinds of paintings and sculptures, “traditional Chinese realistic brushwork painting”, “watercolor painting”, “oil painting” and “wash painting”. The exhibition has made breakthroughs in the history of Hunan art: the highest-standard one sponsored by the provincial government, the largest and comprehensive one and the highest-level with masterpieces selected from more than 3,000 pieces of works in the past three years.
