An exhibition entitled “the oil painting art of Pang Jun” is currently on display at all the five halls of the third floor until Nov.27. With a total of more than 100 oil paintings, the exhibition intends to provide an overview of his artistic experience and show respect for his diligence and devotion.

Born into an artist family, Pang Jun enjoyed superior education and prominent talent in the artistic field. He co-held an exhibition with his elder sister in Shanghai at the age of 12. Graduated from Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1954, he worked at Beijing Art Academy and organized Beijing Oil Painting Research Institute. He worked in National Taiwan University of Arts after he settled in Taiwan. He enjoyed high recognition at home and abroad and was enlisted in Cambridge Who's Who in the world.

Under the circumstance of diversified and open cultural environment, Pang Jun has maintained his direction and also deepened his understanding about the nature of the art with rich experiences involved with the multi- cultures from mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He intends to present the real reflection of the soul and the character by vitalizing the ordinary objects with colors and light. The artist has combined the traditional techniques with the intense color and expressed the placid and elegant tune. He has pursued the fluent style instead of formulation and has adopted pure colors, white or black in order to create vivid visual effects. Pang Jun has decided to donate 38 oil paintings to the museum.
