Cold Fall

Author: Liu Xiangdong,Zhu Yong

The age of creation: 1989

Specifications: 77×101cm

Material quality: powder

Introduction to the work:
Pursuit for color and form and renovation of tools and materials has become the trends the young painters pursued in the new era. In this painting the painter created a green and purple atmosphere with watercolor brush, pencil, eraser and wet cloth and a combination of dry and wet skills as well as lap-over method. The color of the paper is used as the strong sunshine outside the window, reflecting the shape of the trees in front of the windows. Wet brush describes the reflection on the desk and forms a contrast with the lap over of the curtains, adding weight to the painting and the brightness of the desk. The geometrical structure formed by the desk and the windows shows the painter's abstract concept. The pear on the desk balances the whole painting, making the painting a rather decorative one. Born in 1965, Liu Xiangdong graduated from Chenzhou Normal School and became a teacher there. "Cold Fall" was co-created by Zhu Yong and him, winning them the silver prize of the seventh National fine Art Exhibition.
