Real life and natural scene as the sources of his creation, he pursues solid sculpting ability and unique art style. He is good at describing Northern people's life and customs and sceneries. Snow on Tianshan Mountain was done in his visit to Xinjiang in 1962. He used the blank skills to achieve the snow effect, dry and wet painting skills to describe the thick forests at the mountain foot and pine trees on the mountain. He adds Chinese art elements to the painting. The thick green and yellow colors at the foot of the mountain, together with the blue sky and far away hills were perfect foils to the snow; all of witch present a beautiful scene of the North.
