Introduction to the work:
Cheng Yunxian, was born in 1928 in Nanchang of Jiangxi province. After graduation from Chinese department of Hubei Normal College in 1949, he joined the army and went to Sculpture department of Central Academy of Fine Art for Sculpture training due to the interest. Later, he worked in Chinese Revolutionary Military Museum as director of Sculpture lab. Now he is vice chairman of China Arts Association, chairman of China Sculpture Assocation.

He advocated realistic Sculpture and devoted himself to the portrait research and creation. "Statue of Zhu De" successfully molded the image of General Zhu. He thought that the oriental Sculpture emphasizes enjoyable style and Western emphasizes realism. "Flavor and tone" is the representation of Chinese character and manner.
