Introduction to the work:
Cheng Yanan, origin in Shenyang of Liaoning province, was born in Tianjin in 1936. She received the education in the Sculpture department of Central Academy of Fine Art and worked in Beijing Sculpture factory of architecture arts after graduation. Now she is the researcher of the Sculpture research institute of Central Academy of Fine Art. For a long time, she makes great efforts on the hard rocks and wood materials. Her art style was liberated from the bondage of realistic way in the new era. This work was axe-cut and polished in a amaranth rock by an enjoyable way, which seems to be an abstract Sculpture word and shows the trend towards back to nature. It shows that she seeks for the simplicity and allegoric art style in the nature form.
