Introduction to the work:
Cao Guochang, was born in 1942 in Guangzhou. He graduated in Sculpture department of Guangzhou Arts School and now is dean and professor of craftwork department of Guangzhou Arts School.

As the wood of Hainan Island is rich in number and variety which provides the steady materials for woodcarving and for the reason of Cultural Revolution which stimulated him to do woodcarving from Sculpture, Cao has formed his own styles through practices of years. "Son" is derived from his thought of "an image of uprising and beauty", and when his son was 2 years old, he has finished this works of the image. The soft body which is contrast with the up head formed the image of love of human beings.
