French photographerBruno Barbey, former global chairman of Magnum Photos, is an academician of the French Academy of Art. Since he followed then President George Pompidou to visit China in 1973, he has been tied up with China and made many visits, exploring China with the camera lens. He is the first Magnum Photos photographer to shoot China with color films. The exhibition will put on display more than 50 photographic works, which are the life scenes of ordinary Chinese and the images of the time, captured by Bruno Barbey as a foreign photographer. They show the footprints of Bruno Barbey all over Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guangxi, Jiangsu and Xinjiang, recording the rate “true China stories” of the 1970s and 1980s with the camera lens.
