Nanjing Painting and Calligraphy Institute was founded in the city of Nanjing on July 10, 1979. Over the past 40 years, under the leadership of curator Lin Sanzhi, it has cultivated a large number of influential calligraphers and painters, who have created great many fine works well received in the society. This exhibition will review the fruitful history of the institute over the past four decades. The works of three generations of artists, with diversified styles and themes, will show the direction and trajectory of the development of Nanjing calligraphy and painting in the 40 years, reflect the rapid development and changes of Nanjing in the 70 years after the founding of the People's Republic of China. It will become the inheritor and promoter of cultural heritage of Nanjing.
