Beauty in the New Era -- Special Exhibition of the Collection of NAMOC Celebrating the Convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China

To celebrate the convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, National Art Museum of China held the Beauty in the New Era, a special exhibition of its collected elaborate works from November 16 to 26, 2017. The exhibition was well received by unprecedented audience. In the nine days of exhibition, NAMOC greeted a total of 130,000 visitors, a sensational art event in Beijing. Because of the limited duration of the exhibition, many audiences were unable to participate in the great event. Therefore, NAMOC has decided to shift the exhibition to the fifth floor and continue to put the works on display for the general public.
On the basis of the original exhibition, elaborate works of great masters Huang Binhong, Pan Tianshou and Yan Wenliang will be added to the exhibition on the fifth floor, to make the lineup of collected works of modern artists more complete. They comprise the works of Shanghai School artists Ren Bonian and Wu Changshuo who formed a connecting link between the preceding and the following and the representative works of Qi Baishi, Huang Binhong, Pan Tianshou, Fu Baoshi, Ye Qianyu and Li Keran, who explored new ways of flower and bird painting, landscape painting and figure painting from the tradition. They include masterpieces of Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Pang Xunqin and Yan Wenliang who integrated the merits of Chinese and western styles in oil painting and traditional Chinese painting, and combined inheritance and introduction to construct new academic systems. They also contained great works of Wu Zuoren and Wu Guanzhong, who carried forward their respective features and climbed to the peak of art. The exhibited works are virtually brilliant classics and peaks of the great masters. These Chinese art masters and elites, with profound artistic skills, are inspired by deep cultural consciousness and self-confidence to promote righteousness, integrity and fairness in traditional Chinese painting and oil painting, while materialize the Chinese spirit to be close to nature, praise nature, find beauty and create beauty.
