Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts is the only high-level art academy in northwest China and plays an important role in the development process of New China's fine arts. Since its establishment, it has given full play to the geographical advantages, highlighted the characteristics of the western region, have a foothold in the “four traditions” of the Yan’an revolutionary spirit, profound historical heritage, rich folk art, and the Chang’an Painting School and the Loess Painting School with distinctive features, to create many touching excellent works of far-reaching influence in the history of contemporary Chinese art. The exhibition, on the theme of "Spirit of the Time", is separated into the five sectors of collected works, Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints and sculptures. With 200 masterpieces from 173 artists, separated intoChang’an Tolerance, Spirit of the Silk Road, Chinese Power and International Vision, this exhibition shows the literary and artistic conception that stays grounded in the present, takes root in life and adapts to the strategy of building a powerful country by concentrating on the spirit of the times. It is an all-round practice and interpretation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
