Yao Zhonghua was born in 1939 in Kun Ming, Yunnan. Graduating from the Affiliated High School of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1959 and oil painting department of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1964, he now is the honorary chairman of the Yunnan Oil Painting Society and a member of Culture and History Center of Yunnan. As First-Class Artist, he is a leading figure in contemporary Yunnan painting and his paintings (concentrating on describing Yunnan's unique image, region and customs of ethnic minorities) have a unique personal style of being dignified and unrestrained.
This exhibition is one of the “2016 Collection and Donation Exhibition of National Art Museum of China”, and will show Mr. Yao’s almost 200 creations (including oil painting, ink painting, gouache, etc.) For his more than fifty years works to present roundly the art feelings and magnificent art style of him.
