Xu Jun, styled Changzhi, was also known by his literary name Heishanhuren, was born in 1960 in Beijing. Graduated from China Central Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Chinese painting, he won Ye Qianyu Scholarship by graduating works. He has been working on researches, teaching and creating of Chinese painting, calligraphy and seal cutting. Now Xu is vice-president and professor of China National Academy of Chinese Painting.
The exhibition is composed of four parts: drawing to pursuing the dream, sending feelings to colorful ink, picturing by pen, paintings remaining in poems. The exhibition focuses on the painter’s working achievements, and acts as the answers to two important problems of the innovation of green landscape painting and the language of Chinese painting: one is how to add literati’s ink to green landscape painting which especially emphasizes on color expression; the other is coordinating free ink and decorating graphic expression to show in language of Chinese painting.
