This exhibition aims to thoroughly implement the spirit of lecture given by Xi Jinping at Forum on Literature and Art and policy of prospering and developing socialist literature and art by CPC central committee, further boom painting and calligraphy art creation of Fuyang and carry forward national culture.
Located in northwest plain of Anhui province, Fuyang, which possesses a long history and profound cultural deposits, is named as “city of Chinese calligraphy” by Chinese Calligraphers’ Association. Taihe county of Fuyang is hailed as home of art of painting and calligraphy. In today’s Fuyang, the deep cultural accumulation and strong artistic atmosphere makes painting and calligraphy a popular mass culture and art of painting and calligraphyhere presents a scene of prosperity and development.
The over 120 pieces of works on show are mostly created by artists from Fuyang with some created by Beijing’s famous artists who have worked or lived in Fuyang. These works represent relatively high level of art of Fuyang and some of the works expresslocal humanistic connotation and customs, show experience, understanding and artistic expression to painting and calligraphy of the artists.
