Born in 1964, Cui Jian is from Dongtai of Jiangsu province. He has studied in Department of Fine Arts of Nanjing Normal University and College of Fine Arts of Nanjing University of the Arts and got master degree of art. Cui Jian presently is an assistant to the president of Jiangsu Chinese Painting Institute, national level artist and member of Chinese Artists Association.
Cui Jian started to create modern Chinese painting from 1980s and held “Modern Ink Painting Show” in Nanjing. His works returned to tradition in 1990s and created “Spring ? Autumn Series”. In 2001, he participated in “China ? Ink Painting Practice Twenty-Year Show” and “China Ink Painting Experiment Series Show”. Cui Jian has launched his “Landscape” series since 2003 and held solo shows in name of “Oriental Landscape” since 2005.This exhibition will display over 60 pieces of his representative works of past ten years.
