Born in 1979, Su Guowei, presently deputy director of Department of Painting of Xiamen Institute Of Arts and Crafts of Fuzhou University, member of Chinese Artists Association, executive director of Fujian Young Artists Association, deputy secretary general of Fujian Lacquer Painting Art Commission, member of tutor group of the 3rd, 4th and 5th National Lacquer Painting Advanced Seminar of Art Commission of Chinese Artists Association, has been engaged in modern lacquer painting and contemporary lacquer painting art exploration and study for a long time. Su Guowei was graduated from Xiamen Institute of Arts and Crafts of Fuzhou University in 2004 and taught there after graduation. His works, combining Oriental artistic conception with Western composition of a picture and coloring, has exquisite aesthetic traditional expression as well as free, unrestrained depiction. Su Guowei has created many excellent lacquer paintings in the past over ten years and won lacquer painting gold award of The 9th National Art Exhibition, bronze of The 10th National Art Exhibition and nomination of The 11th National Art Exhibition. Two pieces of his work have been collected by National Art Museum of China. This exhibition will display nearly 50 pieces of his representative lacquer paintings and have viewers appreciate the unique beauty and charm of the Orient and lacquer painting.
