Li Xiaocheng graduated from watercolor major of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts’ department of education and was awarded as bachelor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and master of Central China Normal University. He is a professor of Shantou Polytechnic, the visiting professor of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, the sign painter of Guangdong Painting Academy, a member of Chinese Artists Association, the council member of Guangdong Artists Association, the vice-chairman of Shantou Artists Association and the president of Chaoshan Watercolor Academy.

The watercolor works on view are the current projects of Li Xiaocheng, which are divided into “Chaoshan folk-custom collection” and “lotus” collection. The works display documentary visual power of watercolor and the creator’s philosophy thinking on water culture. Li Xiaocheng raises techniques exploration and aesthetic concept of “painting water as colors”, and combines traditional techniques of watercolor with native culture. With cultural landscape that integrates ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign countries, Li Xiaocheng’s watercolors present a personal style tendency that possesses Chinese spirit.
