Professor Xue Baoxia is a native of Baoding, Hebei. He was born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1956. He was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts of National Taiwan Normal University, Master of the Pratt Institute, New York, USA. He obtained his Art PhD of New York University in 1995 and returned to Taiwan for teaching. Now he is a full——time professor at doctoral program in Art Creation and Theory of Tainan University of the Arts.
Professor Xue is famous Taiwanese middle period development abstract art who is first invited on to participate in the exhibition in the museum. He focused on abstract art from the mid——1980s. Since then, he studied in the area and explored endless. In particular, his recent work is focused on how the coexistence of cold and heat two abstract symbols. To think about the abstract art in period of modernist and abstract expressionism during the 1950s has been regarded as conclusive historical awareness. In the nature of the merger, the works show critical point of integration in significantly differences and then re——think possible cognitive shift on the abstract art.
Mobile Reality ——2011 Xue Baoxia Abstract Art Exhibition show 24 works including the integration works of organic abstraction and physical matter created by the artist since 1985 and the dialectic concept creation by abstract symbols and performance calligraphy. In both original creation vocabulary of "Spiritual" and "Reality", it shows art abstract thinking and creative practice of artists for "Post——Abstract" era, the language of the abstract becomes contemporary abstract because of reality of the content and meaning.
