National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project is a program about cultural innovation initiated by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance in April, 2002. Taking advantage of modern information technology, the project makes digital processing and combination of suitable information and excellent cultural resources for rural areas and facilitates the information and resources reach to the public of the basic level in a fast and convenient way. The program is not only an important measure to implement the Scientific Concept of Development and promote a harmonious society and a basic project of public cultural service but also an important method to improve public cultural service of the basic level and help the public enjoy basic cultural right.
During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project is expected to achieve the goal of establishing the digital cultural service mechanism featuring abundant resources, advanced technology, convenient services and covering urban and rural areas by the end of 2010. Among them, digital resources construction serves as the core, the construction on the service network of the basic level as the focus, various media as the way and sharing as the basic method.
With great support of the Central Committee of the Party and the State Council, the project has made remarkable achievements. The exhibition fully reflects working experience of the project during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and its accomplishments to the public.
