“Life-giving Spring Breeze and Rain —— Commemorate 30 Years of Reform and Opening Up” the Exhibition for 80's Generation Collection of Beijing Artists Association will be hold from 16 December to 24 December 2008 in the National Art Museum of China by China Federation Literary and Art Circles, Beijing Artists Association and Beijing Fine Art Academy .The exhibition contain 69 pieces of works. All of them were selected from 80s Generation Collection of Beijing Artists Association seriously. There are 3 kinds of paintings such as Chinese paintings, prints and oil paintings. Not only some famous artists, also many outstanding young artists.

At first of reform and opening up, Beijing has become the idea source and creating center of art development of the new period of China. After suppressed for 10 years, Beijing arts circles become active and energetic. Various notion and thoughts appear on the stage gradually. The different art association, exhibition and creating organization come out continuously. Bathing in the spring breeze, three generations of artists are energetic, and create a colorful cultural and artistic landscape of new period of Beijing. During that time, some foreign tourists started to actively acquire art works of the period. Under the situation, Beijing Artists Association applied to Beijing municipal government for certain funds of collection for social and historical sense of responsibility. Under the government supports, Beijing Artists Association started to collect art works successively from art exhibitions of Beijing and China in 1982. Throughout the 80's, Beijing Artists Association made a use of the funs to collect Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, sculpture, watercolors, gouache, comic books, New-Year pictures, posters, cartoons and other works are as many as 1,000 pieces. This act of responsibility played a huge role to encourage and promote art works creating. Furthermore，it avoided the overseas loss of a number of excellent works. These collection have become a clear step of art development of Beijing as well as China. They were authentic documents of Beijing art development history. At the same time they can afford very important image information to help us review and research this period of history.

The collection of Beijing Artists Association can be the truth and witness of history. Through them recalling the past three decades of reforming and opening up, we can observe the obvious feature of that time and comprehend the art reality that different notion crossing, exchanging, absorbing and blending. We hope that the works can bring audience back to that time: watching the track of artists’ development and their works, feeling their heart-felt love and passion when they face to the reality, dream and future. This is also the aim and significant of the exhibition.
