The 2nd Sino——Japanese Female Calligraphers Representative Work Exhibition

To mark the 35th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese diplomatic relation, and as part of the Sino-Japan Culture and Sport Exchange activities, the Second Sino-Japanese Female Calligraphers Representative Work Exhibition will be held between the 2nd and 10th of October, 2007 at the China National Museum of Fine Art. The event is sponsored by China Calligrapher Association, All-China Youth Federation, Japan News Daily and Calligraphy Association with the approval of the Ministry of Culture.200 female calligraphers from each of the two countries will bring a piece of their work, thus 400 pieces in total to the exhibition. Honorary President Peng Peiyun of the All-China Women’s Federation and Yoko Abe, mother of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, have also contributed by submitting their works to the exhibition. The exhibition aims to represent the highest standard of calligraphy art among Chinese and Japanese female calligraphers. It puts on display representative works of outstanding artists in the field. It’ll bring a new flavor of enjoyment to calligraphy fans and audiences. Female calligraphers from both countries will also participate in various other functions during the course of the exhibition. This event will make great contributions to strengthening friendly ties and exchanges between the two countries.

The same exhibition will be held in Tokyo, capital of Japan in July next year.
