Introduction to the work:
Ai Xuan was a persistent artist of Wyeth Style in 1980s. His works drew the attention from the painting circle with their unique style. He was born in Jinhua, Zhejiang jin 1947. After graduation from the attached middle school of Central Academy of Fine Art in 1967, he worked on the farm of the army for four years. During that time, he went to Tibetan area in Sichuan for many times. The outgoing of the Tibetan people left forgettable impressions on him. He began to pick up his brush to portray the life and customs of the Tibetan People. Thus he created Flower on the Mountain and other works with obvious Russian style. After 1982, his painting style began to change, except that he still pursues realism in his work. Wyeth's sentimental realistic style began to appear in his work, which is a typical feature of his creation at that time. In the world of white, a lone man and a piece of lonely cloud were in the picture. The man was listening something, and the purple-gray color deepened the sentimentalism of the character. The strong side look of the man appears in the bottom of the picture. Behind him, there was the broad sky. In the contrast of being, and not being, there is an unspeakable philosophy.
