Introduction to the work:
With the flourishing of lacquer painting ever since the 1980s, Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Tianjin have become its creation centers, each of which has their unique characteristics. Tianjin is most famous for its aluminum plate lacquer painting. With aluminum plate as the model, it applies the corroding approach to make intaglios on the smooth surface, which are very decorative for the picture as a whole.

Huang Weizhong is a lacquer painter in Tianjin, and he uses aluminum plate as the model in his Work "Mountains and Waters". He uses red, yellow, green and other bright colors against the black background, and the reflections of the mountains and waters to make a new style in his painting. His works are not only realistic, but also give the material and technical beauty of lacquer into full play. He said:" I pursue the combination of consciousness of traditional and comtemporary". He was born in Youxi of Fujian in 1930. In 1956 he studied in decorating and painting department of Central Academy of Fine Arts and now is a painter in Tianjin Art College.
