Introduction to the work:
Hua Junwu, contemporary cartoonist, and fine arts activist, was born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang in 1915. He began publishing his cartoons on Times Cartoon and other magazines when he was still a high school student. He went to Yan'an in 1938, and held a teaching position in Luxun University of Literature and Arts. He went to liberated area in the Northeast in 1945, and worked as a journalist for Northeast China Daily. His artistic career reached its peak at that time. "Murder, after you sharpen your knife" was created during this period.
