印度尼西亚国家美术馆隶属于印度尼西亚共和国文化旅游部，于1999年5月8日成立。

    印度尼西亚国家美术馆位于印度尼西亚共和国雅加达市中心国家纪念碑的东面，雅加达的主火车站甘伯车站对面。占地面积为17,600平方米，包括办公室、展厅、图书馆、礼堂、修复实验室和储藏室等建筑。美术馆还配有艺术家宿舍、咖啡厅和艺术品商店等公共设施。其中展厅包括四个建筑：“A” 建筑（1,350平方米）、“B” 建筑（2,800平方米）、“C” 建筑（750平方米）和“D” 建筑（600平方米）。

    印度尼西亚国家美术馆主要有三个主要功能：研究、保护和利用艺术品。美术馆相关工作皆遵循国际博物馆协会规定的原则，例如藏品的登录、入库、保存、修复、研究、固定陈列以及公共教育等。

    印度尼西亚国家美术馆主要收藏近现代油画、绘画、版画、雕塑、摄影和装置等艺术品，现有藏品1,700件，均来自印度尼西亚或国际知名艺术家，例如Raden Saleh 、Basuki Abdullah 、Affandi 、S Sudjojono 、Hendra Gunawan 、Nyoman Gunarsa 、Ida Bagus Made 、俄罗斯艺术家瓦斯利·康定斯基（Wassily Kandinsky ）、德国艺术家汉斯·哈同（Hans Hartung ）、匈牙利艺术家维克多·瓦萨尔利（Victor Vassarely ）、中国艺术家赵无极等。

    该美术馆拥有永久性展览和临时展览以及多项巡回展览项目。通常每年举办展览25个，展览时间最短为14天，最长的有1个月。从建立之初到现在的7年里，印度尼西亚国家美术馆举办过许多大型展览，其中著名展览有CP 双年展、2004年印度尼西亚艺术峰会、2006年雅加达双年展、方力钧展览以及印度尼西亚及国际艺术家的个人展览。

    印度尼西亚国家美术馆由印度尼西亚文化和旅游部所属的文化、艺术和电影司所负责。其负责人是美术馆行政、展览和教育、收藏和文献部门的领导，负责管理美术馆。印度尼西亚国家美术馆拥有理事委员会和馆长委员会，其成员从艺术学院和职业艺术家中定期选出。

National Gallery of Indonesia

National Gallery of Indonesia is an art museum institution in the Culture and Tourism Department of Republic of Indonesia. After long time of preparation National Gallery of Indonesia founded at May 8, 1999.

National Gallery of Indonesia located at Jalan Merdeka Timur no 14 Jakarta 10110, in the centre of Jakarta, the capital of Republic of Indonesia. The Location is across of Gambir, Jakarta railway main station, on East side of National Monument of Indonesia. The National Gallery of Indonesia has 17,600 square metre areas. In that area Offices, Exhibitions, Library, Auditorium, Conservation Laboratory and storage buildings were located. It is fully equiped with public facility like artist hostel, gallery caffe and artshop.

The exhibition hall consist of four building: “A” Building (1,350 m2), ”B” Building (2.800 m2), “C” Building (750m2) and “D” Building (600m2).

National Gallery of Indonesia has three main programs: conserving, developing and using the artworks. The implementation of programs was following the International Council of Museum (ICOM) principals, like registration, inventory, reservation, maintenance, research, collection display in exhibitions and public education programs.

National Gallery of Indonesia has modern and contemporer art collection in paintings, drawings, prints, statues, photography and installation art. The Collection were 1700 artworks of prominent Indonesian artists and International artists, such as Raden Saleh, Basuki Abdullah, Affandi, S Sudjojono, Hendra Gunawan, Nyoman Gunarsa, Ida Bagus Made, Wassily Kandinsky (Rusia), Hans Hartung (Jerman), Victor Vassarely (Hongaria), Piere Soulages (Perancis), Zao Wau Ki (china) etc.

National Gallery of Indonesia has Permanent and Temporary Exhibition Halls and Travels Exhibition programs. Every year National Gallery of Indonesia has 25 exhibitions, the exhibition time is range from fourteen days to one month at the longest. Prominence exhibitions in National Gallery of Indonesia are CP Open Biennale, Art Summit Indonesia 2004, Jakarta Biennale 2006, Fang Lijun Solo Exhibition and other Indonesian and International artist.

National Gallery of Indonesia is a government institution which work on arts under the Director of Culture, Arts and Film in Indonesian Culture and Tourism Department. National Gallery of Indonesia managed by the Director of Arts, as head of Administration, Exhibition and Education, Collection and Documentation sections. National Gallery of Indonesia has Board of Councel and Board of Curator which selected periodicaly from art university and proffesionals.
