缅甸国家博物馆美术馆的馆藏跨越了1万年前至20 世纪的历史长河，展现了缅甸悠久灿烂的文化和艺术。

    缅甸传统绘画最早可追溯到蒲甘（Bagan）早期。为了使观众更好地了解缅甸传统艺术的发展历程，美术馆设有专门的长期陈列，展出蒲甘（Bagan），英瓦（Inwa），贡榜（Konbaung）早期及晚期的壁画复制品，观众可以从中领略到缅甸传统绘画作品的技法风格。

    缅甸国家博物馆美术馆展示了众多缅甸知名画家的作品。其中有Saya Saw, Saya Myo 创作的缅甸古代宫廷肖像画，也有曾在欧洲学习绘画的U Ba Nyan 和U Ba Zaw 的水彩作品，还有缅甸著名水彩画家Saya Hsaung 的杰出画作，以及U Ngwe Gaing, U Chit Mya 等一批技艺精湛的艺术家的作品。

    值得一提的是，美术馆收藏有saya U Ba Nyan 三百多幅绘画作品，有其在欧洲旅行时创作的铅笔画、钢笔淡彩画、铜刻蚀版画、风景画。1920 年代后期，U Ba Nyan 开始尝试将欧洲学院派绘画的透视技法运用到缅甸传统绘画中，成为这一领域的先驱。他在1916 年至1945 年之间创作了一系列富有特色的作品，其中有其自画像，妻子和父亲的肖像画，也有描绘缅甸和欧洲的风景画。

    美术馆中还陈列着一些20 世纪缅甸著名画家的作品，这些作品创作题材丰富多彩，包括肖像，风景，静物，佛本生故事传说及缅甸独特的自然景观、庙宇寺塔、农事、编织工艺、传统节日、风俗、服饰、国家日常事务等。同时观众也可欣赏到U Saw Maung, U Tun Hla, U Ba Lon, U Ba Lon, U Ba Yin Gyi, U Hla Maung Gyi, U Ngwe Gaing, U Ohn Lwin, U San Win, U Gywe and Min Wai Aung 等著名画家和一些现代画家的优秀创作。

    丰富的馆藏使得缅甸国家博物馆美术馆在缅甸艺术发展史上占有重要地位，同时馆内独具特色的长期陈列展也担当着缅甸社会公共审美教育的重任。

National Museum Art Gallery, Burma

This gallery presents copies of mural paintings from Bagan, Inwa, early Konbaung, and late Konbaung (Amarapura) Periods, enabling the viewer to observe the development of Myanma traditional paintings from the Bagan period to late Konbaung era.

On exhibition are the original works of saya U Ba Zaw, U Chit Mye, saya Hsaung, U San Win, U Ngwe Gaing, U Saw Maung and U Ba Lone Lay; the original works of leading artists from the world of Myanmar painting Saya U Ba Kyi. U Min Naing, U Mehm San Chein, U M. Tin Aye, U Hla Tin Tun. U Lun Kywe, Bagyi Aung Soe, U Ohn Lwin, Paw Oo Thet and also the paintings of contemporary artists.

A portrait of a royal family and Myanmar family of ancient days by veteran painters Saya Saw, Saya Myo are also on display. Water colour works of U Ba Nyan and U Ba Zaw who had studied in Europe, master-pieces of famous water colourist Saya Hsaung, and works of veteran artists U Ngwe Gaing, U Chit Mya, U Ba Thet, U Khin Maung Mya and U Ohn Lwin can also be studied in this art gallery.

This gallery is a collection of different work of art (305 pieces of paintings) done by U Ba Nyan in his lifetime. He was a pioneer who introduced the European school of painting complete with perspective to traditional painting during the late 1920. The paintings cover the period 1916 to 1945, including a self-portrait, portraits of his wife and father. Myanmar as well as European scenery done by this artist are also featured. Moreover, U Ba Nyan's drawings in pencil, ink and brass etchings, scenic spots of Europe done during his tour can also be observed.

In this gallery, works of famous 20th century Myanmar painters are displayed. Portraits, scenes, still life and scenes from Jataka stories, as well as paintings portraying beautiful Myanmar landscapes, temples and pagodas, agriculture, timber extraction, weaving industry, traditional festivals, traditional costumes and modules of dress and daily chores of the nationalities are also displayed. Works of some veteran painters like U Saw Maung, U Tun Hla, U Ba Lon, U Ba Lon, U Ba Yin Gyi, U Hla Maung Gyi, some famous painters like U Ngwe Gaing, U Ohn Lwin, U San Win, U Ba Kyi, U Thein Han Such as Paw Oo Thet, U Min Naing, Zaw Win(Burma), U Kun Gywe and Min Wai Aung,…etc and masterpieces done by modern painters can also be studied in this gallery.
