文莱美术馆
文莱美术馆成立于2001年, 其位置邻近文莱手工艺品中心, 距离斯里巴加湾市市中心约1公里。美术馆的建筑综合了当地传统建筑和设计元素。第一层用作办公室、演讲厅、会议室和艺术工作室等,第二层是面积约为1,800平方米的展览大厅。此外,文莱国家美术馆还与文莱手工艺品中心共用会议室、祈祷室、餐厅、纪念品商店等部分设施。
文莱美术馆的办馆目标包括以下方面:开展各项艺术活动以培育、促进和加强文莱国家文化政策; 为本国艺术家提供展示其艺术作品的空间; 通过艺术活动促进本国艺术家的国际交流平台; 提高本国公众的艺术素质,达到地区和国际美术馆运营标准。
该美术馆每年举办2—4次展览。此外每年还举办专题展览1-2次,一般在每年七月国王诞辰纪念日或二月国庆节时举行。美术馆的参观者主要为当地居民、学生以及到此旅游的游客。
文莱美术馆是文莱博物馆部的直属机构,该博物馆部拥有307 名正式员工,另外还有60名临时员工。除了美术馆外,文莱博物馆部管理其他三家博物馆:文莱国家博物馆、马来科技博物馆和皇家博物馆。
文莱美术馆不久将迁往新址,新馆拥有更大的面积,并俯瞰着文莱河。新馆的所在地原为关税及国产税署办公大楼,该建筑被政府列为国家历史文物,目前正在为作为美术馆而进行改建。
Brunei Art Gallery
Brunei Art Gallery was established in 2001, adjacent to the Brunei Handicraft Centre about 1000 meters from City Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan. The Gallery building itself was built by incorporating local pattern and design. The Gallery has two floors. The ground floor is used for office, lecture hall/assembly hall and workshop etc. The second floor is the contemporary exhibition space with about 1,800 sq meters. The Brunei Handicraft Centre and Brunei Art Gallery share some facilities such as Conference rooms, prayer room, canteen, souvenir shop, etc.
The objectives of Brunei Art Gallery is as follows:
--To nurture, promote and strengthen the Brunei National Cultural Policy through art activities;
--To provide the local artists with an exhibition area a specified time for their works of art;
--To facilitate interactions among the local artists in promoting art activities;
--To improve the quality and standard of art in the country as a preparation for participation in the regional and international level;
The Brunei Art Gallery holds 2-4 exhibitions each year. In addition to that, the Gallery also presents Special Exhibitions once or twice a year, usually in July in conjunction with his Majesty’s birthday celebration or National Day celebration in February. The main audience of the Gallery is local people, students and tourists.
The Brunei Art Gallery is a Division under the Brunei Museums Departments which has another three museums, namely: The Brunei National Museum, The Malay Technology Museum and Royal Regalia Museum. The Museums Department has 307 permanent staff not including about 60 daily paid workers.
The Brunei Art Gallery will be located soon to a more bigger space at the former Custom and Excise Building overlooking the Brunei River. The Building was gazetted as a national monument and is being renovated to become Brunei Art Gallery. |
