1990年毕业于南京艺术学院美术史论专业，获硕士学位。现为广东美术馆馆长，广东省美术家协会副主席，中国美术馆专家委员会委员，中国美术家协会理事,广州美术学院特聘教授，国务院政府特殊津贴专家，一级美术师。主编《美术馆》刊物。1992年参与组织“中国当代艺术文献展（第三回）”（中国广州）。2002年组织和策划“首届广州三年展” （中国广州）。2005年组织策划“2005广州国际摄影双年展”。

Was born in 1956, Guangdong, China. In 1990, he graduated from Nanjing Art Institute with a Master Degree in art history department in 1990. At present he is the director of the Guangdong Museum of Art, Chief-editor of Art Museum Magazine, vice-president of the Guangdong Artists Association, member of the Expert Committee of the National Art Museum of China, specially-appointed professor of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, special-allowance expert of the State Council, and first-class artist .
