Director: Fan Di'an

He was born in Fujian province in 1955, and used to act as the vice president and professor of the Central Academy of Fine Art. He has devoted on the research of Chinese fine art in the 20-century, the comment of modern arts, the organization of exhibition and the research of museum. He wrote the Water and Ink Nature of the Contemporary Culture Sentiments; headed the compilation of such books as the Contemporary Chinese Art: 1979-1999, Education of World Art Colleges, and Contemporary Art and Vernacular Culture, etc; organized the Water and Ink Nature, the Chinese Gallery in The 25th St. Paul Biannual Exhibition , Live in the Moment: The Exhibition of Chinese Contemporary Art in Hamburg Train Station of Berlin in German, and Golden Harvest: The Exhibition of Chinese Contemporary Art, etc; and acted as the curator of Urban creation: the 2002 Shanghai Biannual Exhibition, the general curator for the Chinese National Gallery in the 50th and the 51st Venice Biannual Exhibition, and the curator for the 20 Century Chinese Painting Exhibition in Sino-French Culture Year, and the Chinese Contemporary Art Exhibition in Pompidou Center in Paris. He was appointed as the director of the National Art Museum of China in December 2005.


Deputy Director: Qian Linxiang

He was born in Shanghai on November 13th, 1949 and his native place was Changshu city, Jiangsu province. He studied in Shanghai till the Cultural Revolution, when his school work was interrupted. In 1968, he went to Heilongjiang Production and Construction Corps. In 1974, he studied in the Department of History of Fudan University, and was graduated and assigned to the Ministry of Culture in September 1977. He worked in the Check Office for a year, and then did secretarial work in the General Office  of the Ministry of Culture, ever being the secretary of Zhou Huan, Liu Jiping and Zhou Weishi. After 1985, he assumed the position of Vice Section Chief, Section Chief and Vice Director of  General Office  of Ministry of Culture. From November 2001 till now, he is the Secretary of CPC Committee and Deputy Director of NAMOC.



Deputy Director: Yang Bingyan

His pen name is Bingy¨˘n or Bingy¨¤n. He was born in March 1948, and he joined Communist Party of China in September 1966. His highest education level is postgraduate. He jointed the People's Liberation Army of China in January 1965, and was soldier, clerk and squad leader in succession; he ever was Secretary, Vice Section Chief and Section Chief of Cadre Division of Political Department of Beijing Military District, and was Vice Director of Political Department of Beijing Garrison District and Hebei Military District. In 1992, he was conferred the military title of senior colonel. In October 1996, he was transferred to Ministry of Culture of P.R.C. to assume Director of Personnel Division. In December 2001, he assumed the position of Secretary of CPC Committee and Vice Director of National Library of China. In May 2004, he assumed the position of Deputy Director and Vice Secretary of CPC Committee of NAMOC.

During July 1986 to July 1989, he studied in the Calligraphy major class held by China Painting and Calligraphy Correspondence University and then was conferred graduation certificate. In 1985, he joined Calligraphers Association of Hebei Province, and in 1995, he joined China Calligraphers Association. For carrying forward the art of calligraphy, he ever initiated to organize Taihang Painting and Calligraphy Research Society. Now he is the Director of China Calligraphers Association and Committee Member of Creation Committee.



Deputy Director: Ma Shulin

He was born in Shenyang in 1956 and enrolled by Crafts Department of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1977. After graduation in 1982, he stayed in the school and taught. He ever was Director of Craft Staff  Room of Education Department, Vice Director of Traditional Chinese Painting Department, Schoolmaster of Affiliated High School of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Vice Director of Academic Committee of the Academy, Vice Editor-in-chief of Meiyuan magazine, Tutor for master-degree postgraduates of traditional Chinese painting, Vice President of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts and Vice Chairman of Liaoning Artists Association. He is one of the experts that enjoy the special allowance granted by the State Council of China. In June 2004, he was transferred to NAMOC and assumed the position of Deputy Director.

He is a professor and famous painter of traditional chinese paintings. His works of traditional chinese painting Singing toward the Sky, Play with Spring, Geese, Silver Dream, National Quintessence, Red War Divinity, Xiang Yu the Conqueror Parts with His Consort and Sheng Dan Jing Chou--Stage of Life were included in the third National Youth Fine Arts Exhibition and the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth national and provincial fine arts exhibitions. His works won more than ten awards including gold, silver, bronze awards and awards of merit in national exhibitions. His works ever were exhibited in countries such as Japan and South Korea and housed by domestic museums including National Art Museum of China. His brief introduction is included in dictionaries such as Dictionary of Famous Chinese Painters and Calligraphers, Dictionary of Famous Artists in the World, etc. He published ten-odd dissertations such as On Ink Player--Chinese Figure Painting, Boundless Ink Brushwork and Meditation on China's Higher Design Education, etc. He ever edited books such as Collection of Dissertations of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, Computerized Digital Art Design Series, etc. His publications include Chinese Interior Design and Decoration, Photo Album of Travel in Tibet, Boundless Ink Brushwork--Collection of Ma Shulin's Paintings, etc.
