“Military History and Landscape Painting—Mr. Sun Lixin's Solo Exhibition” Was Grandly Kicked off in National Art Museum of China

On March 23, 2017, co-organized by the Chinese Artists Association, Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution and China Oil Painting Society and sponsored by Cedar Holdings Group,“ Military History and Landscape Painting—Mr. Sun Lixin's Solo Exhibition” was grandly kicked off in National Art Museum of China.
Mr. Sun Lixin is a military painter. Born in 1955, he is a native of Dandong City, Liaoning Province. In 1989, he graduated from the People’s Liberation Army Academy of Art. In 2004, he graduated from Doctorate Program of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He has professional title of National-level Grade-A Artistic Professional. He is currently Director of Fine Arts Creation Office of Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution, Member of Oil Painting Art Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, Director of China Oil Painting Society and Distinguished Artist of Chinese National Academy of Arts.
This exhibition brings together Mr. Sun Lixin’s masterpieces, which consists of three parts, i.e., “Historical Feelings”, “Scenery all the Way” and “Snow of Hometown”. Part I “Historical Feelings” showcases this painter’s perennial creation fruits with military and historical themes. Part II“Scenery all the Way” highlights this painter’s attainments thanks to sharp insight into daily life and insistence on paint from life. Part III “Snow of Hometown” demonstrates this painter’s artistic expression approach to emphasizing the theme of “Hometown”, following the keynote of snow-capped landscape, evolving from scenery depiction to artistic connotation creation, and leaping forward from “landscape” to “frame of mind”.
For a long time, Mr. Sun Lixin has been engaged in the creation with focus on military and historical themes. Main oil painting works are selected into “Fine Arts Creation Project for National Important Historical Themes” and “Fine Arts Creation Project for Chinese Civilization History Themes”. His primary oil paintings are collected by National Art Museum of China, CAFA Art Museum, Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution and National Museum of China, etc.
