From the classical to the modern, from reality to fantasy, from Madrid to Beijing, Eduardo Naranjo, a famous Spanish contemporary oil painter came to China in a historical and artistic coordinate. On January 12, 2017, Eduardo Naranjo’s Works Exhibition was inaugurated in the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC). The activity was sponsored by NAMOC, Spanish embassy in China, China National Academy of Painting, and Chinese Artists Association. It was undertaken by Zhejiang Meihe Fashion Culture Communication Co. Ltd.. The exhibition was a landmark cultural exchange project between China and Spain.

Eduardo Naranjo is an old friend of Chinese artists. He has visited China for many times, and forged profound friendship with Chinese older generation artists, such as Jin Shangyi, Zhan Jianjun and Quan Shanshi. He was invited to give lectures in China Central Academy of Fine Arts and China Academy of Art. Quan Shanshi, an old friend of Naranjo, and professor of China Academy of Art, said that “Naranjo is an outstanding artist in contemporary Spain. He has his own innovation and unique artistic language. He is particularly strong in the modeling ability. I think this is his main advantage. He has made contributions in oil painting, wood block and sketch. We should learn from him in exploration of multiple varieties of painting in many fields.”
