Arabic famous artists present artworks after journey to China
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Secretariat of League of Arab States, an exhibition entitled "Understanding China" is unveiled at the museum to showcase excellent artworks by Arabic famous artists after their journey to China. This year marks the 10th founding anniversary of cooperation forum of China- Arabic countries and friendship year of China and Arabic countries. It is also among a series of activities of cultural journey of Silk Road and the third Arabic artistic festival.
"Understanding China" refers to sensing China through soul communication, that is, the Arabic artists observe China with eyes, understand China with soul and draw China with painting brushes. In the past 5 years, more than 50 artists participated in the activity from Arabic countries such as Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Djibouti, Sudan, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Comorin, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, Mauritania and Yemen. They travelled to several places like Beijing, Hangzhou of Zhejiang, Yinchuan of Ningxia, Yichun of Heilongjiang, Urmuqi of Xinjiang and Zhoushan of Zhejiang. The artists have not only appreciated natural scenery and cultural beauty of the Chinese landscape but also experienced daily life of the average Chinese people. The artists created a number of excellent artworks about what they saw.
A series of the activity about "Understanding China" has become an important multilateral exchange platform between China and Arabic countries in the fields of the culture and the art. A total of 40 pieces of exhibits, which are selected from around 150 pieces of collections in previous shows, provide an intensive review of the previous five sessions. In spite of the difference in observation perspective, creation technique, detail selection and painting style, the Arabic artists boast remarkable artistic talent and exquisite artistic conception, expressing their love to China, the Chinese people and the Chinese culture.
The exhibition opens at Hall4 until Sept.19.
