Regretless Persistent Pursuit -- Gu Gang Oil Painting Exhibition

Gu Gang (1942-2016), a member of the Communist Party of China, was born in Jiutai of Jilin Province. He graduated from the oil painting department of Central Academy of Fine Arts with a master’s degree, and served as a professor of the school of fine arts , Liaoning Normal University. Gu Gang was well acquainted with the spiritual essence of Xi Jinping's theory of literature and art. He integrated his artistic ideal pursuit into the cause of the Party and the people, portrayed the history of the Party and the images of the Communists and heroes with his painting brush. His masterpieces loved by the people include Daqing People, We're All Sharp Shooters, Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, and New Fourth Army Rangers. On August 16, 2016, while creating the huge oil painting Red Army Arrives in Northern Shaanxi in Long March, he had a heart attack and passed away by the easel, practicing the great Long March spirit with his life.
This exhibition puts on display about 60 paintings of Gu Gang, showing his persistent pursuit of excellence as a literary and art worker of virtue and art, and his life-long enthusiasm to take root in the people and create fine arts works worthy of the times and life.
