Lu Xiujing graduated from the department of traditional Chinese painting in Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1967, majoring in landscape painting. He was tutored by Gu Kunbo and Lu Yanshao. He served as the executive vice president of Xiling Calligraphy and Painting Academy and vice chairman of Hangzhou Art Association. Now he is a first-class artist and a member of China Artists Association. In his 50 years of artistic creation, he has absorbed the merits of various schools, featuring vigorous and plain brushwork, unadorned and yet intelligent. His works show natural charms in plainness, with unique artistic style. Comprising the five parts of Where’s the Hometown, Clear Out the Blockage, Boundless Domain, Overview of Lake and Mountain Landscape, and Sketches of Idle Pleasure, the exhibition puts on display over 100 pieces of Lu’s traditional Chinese painting.
