Liu Kaiqu was the first director of National Art Museum of China. He was the creator and organizer of the relief sculptures of China's first Anti-Japanese War Monument and the Monument of the People's Heroes, a famous sculptor and social activist. Under the theme of "Liu Kaiqu and National Art Museum of China," the exhibition sorts out Liu Kaiqu's contributions to the cause of New China art museums, and shows his achievements in sculpture, calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting. With 64 works on display, supported by a great deal of documents, the exhibition is a comprehensive presentation of the rich and wonderful artistic life of Liu Kaiqu, a pioneer in the cause and education of modern Chinese fine arts and development of Chinese art museums.
