Lu Qinglong was born in Sheyang, JiangsuProvince in 1964. He graduated from Nanjing Normal University in 1987. He is a member of the Watercolor Painting Art Committee of Chinese Artists Association, Vice-chairman of Jiangsu Artists Association, Director of Jiangsu Provincial Watercolor Painting Art Committee, Vice-president of Jiangsu Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Master’sSupervisor and ssociate research fellow of the Academy of Fine Arts of NanjingUniversity, winner of the honorary title of Jiangsu Famous Young and Middle-aged Literary and Art Workers in Morality and Skills, and winner of the first Yandu Culture Medal. As a funded project of China Arts Foundation, this exhibition put on display over 70 pieces of watercolor and oil paintings Lu has created over the years. He depicted with a sincere heart the spiritual state of migrant workers living and working in cities. On the earth, in the sunshine, simple, honest, kind-hearted and hard-working -- these are the true portraits of the migrant workers. The paintings describe the vast northern Jiangsu Plain and thick earth he was born in. The landscape is the "Barbizon" and the ideal paradise in his heart. It may well be said that with people in heart, there is a universe in the painting.
