To ceremoniously celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the army, and memorize the famous artist and educator Mr. Li Binghong's artistic life, the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts united important domestic academic institutions to jointly organize this exhibition. Mr. Li Binghong’s work "Nanchang Uprising" is one of the most important works of the new Chinese major military history, which is the "peak" in the new Chinese art history. And Li Binghong's artistic life, always closely linked with fighting, production and life, is rooted in China and is the outstanding model serving the people. This exhibition aims to excavate the influence and significance of Li Binghong’s art on the history of Chinese art in the 20th century by displaying the creation of Li Binghong at different times; simultaneously, it reminds the ordinary people of the respect for the revolutionary years through the work. "Do not forget the initial determination, and continue to move forward".
Li Binghong (1913-1986) was born in Dongguan, Guangdong. Learning oil painting from Li Tiefu in the early years, he later joined the anti-Japanese national salvation movement. He left for the liberated areas of northern Jiangsu in 1947 to go with the army for campaigns. He has taught in Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts for a long time, and was appointed professor, vice president of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, director of the Chinese Artists Association, vice chairman of Zhejiang Artists Association and other positions.
